Sponsored and Hosted by Helping the Behaviorally Challenging Child (HBCC) out of Tustin, CA, this virtual offering is specifically being provided for participants from the Southern California area, or those with an existing relationship with HBCC.

This 3-day Tier 1 intensive Collaborative Problem Solving training is appropriate for:

- Educators (Teachers, Administrators, Specialists, Counselors, Preschool Educators, etc.)

- After-School and Childcare Providers

- Mental Health Professionals

- Parents and Caregivers of Children and Adults

Relationally based and neurobiologically-grounded, CPS views challenging behavior as a learning disability or delayed development of some very crucial cognitive (thinking) skills necessary to handle the demands of everyday life.

Through a more empathetic and accurate understanding of what is getting in a child's (or adult's) way, we (parents/caregivers, educators, clinicians) are better able to intervene to support children (and adults) through a collaborative process of teaching skills and solving problems. In this training, participants with some previous exposure to this approach will advance their skills in applying the model through a combination of didactic instruction, role-plays, video and audio examples, case presentations, and breakout groups with topics of specific interest to clinicians and educators.

This is an opportunity to not only learn about this model, but to network with others who desire to promote a compassionate and neurodevelopmentally supportive approach, and to receive individual attention and feedback.

Helping the Behaviorally Challenging Child (HBCC) is a California non-profit organization that offers a series of educational programming and support groups that reinforce the Collaborative Problem Solving® approach. HBCC has multiple trainers, certified by Think:Kids in the Department of Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), that help parents, educators, and clinicians interacting with neurodivergent children lead more constructive and inclusive lives. HBCC is the only non-profit in Orange County, California that exclusively uses trainings around Collaborative Problem Solving since 2011.
